The Air Force puts a great deal of emphasis on education, right from the beginning. If you are at all inclined to pursue a degree, your leadership will usually allow, and even encourage, you to do so (after you finish your initial upgrade training, usually).

Do NOT forget (too many people do) that the Air Force will pick up the tab for you to take CLEP and DANTES tests. If you are reasonably intelligent, you can get credit for classes by simply passing the exam for that class. I can not overstate how much this can facilitate a degree–get all the easy classes out of the way and only attend the core courses in person.

Not only does this save you time, but money you would have spent going to classes.

You will just go to a school and get your degree with that college. Tech School and BMT will give you some credits and you can use those towards getting your bachelors.

You can take classes on bases or you can take classes online. I’ve been in the AF just under 4 years and I’m a couple of years shy of getting a degree. What ever college credit you’ve earned will also apply to your CCAF. Getting a degree in the AF can be easy depending on what career field you’re in. If you have the discipline consider going to college first and join the AF as an officer.

Dude, I just finished talking to my USAF recruiter.
You can earn it on your off duty time.
You can apply for AFROTC in which you will be commissioned as an officer as well as earning you Bachelor’s degree.
You can just finish your contract of 4 years and earn you degree with your GI bill during your reserve time.

My recruiter said that you don’t HAVE to get a Bachelor’s degree in what your job is. If your job is an aircraft mechanic, you can get a degree in geology or something like that.

or you can apply for the Air Force Academy, however…you’ll have to work REALLY hard. If you’re willing to do that, go ahead then! :D

You take class’s at a local university.

And you can take class’s on base at the education center, but those are mainly 100 and 200 level class’s.

You can take college class’s online.
